Pure Fit Pure Food

Hi. Devrie here from PureFit PureFood. I'd say my kids are pretty good eaters, but I do have a confession. My Second Grader thinks school lunch is cooler than my lunches. I don't get it because he doesn't particularity care for the food, I just think he thinks the idea of it is cool. 

When I pack his lunch I think about what makes up the perfect adult meal. It's all based off The Perfect Plate, something I created to help individuals make their own healthy plate each time they sit down to eat. Ideally, its a combo of protein, fat, and carbohydrate. This gives my son the energy he needs to run at recess and focus in class. There will be no peaks and valleys in energy level and his blood sugar will remain stable throughout the rest of the day. 

I always make sure there is some veggie and some fruit. After all, half of your plate should be full of veggies - we should promote the same for our kids. And, because I'm always competing with school lunch I try to throw in a healthy treat.
