Summer Heat, Cool Treats

“Summa, Summa, Summertime... Let’s just sit back and unwind.” The Fresh Prince always comes to my mind when summer is near. One thing Will Smith forgot to mention in his lyrics is ‘popsicles’... just as much a part of summatime as anything else.

Little ones love popsicles... Ok, we all love them! Cool and refreshing on a hot day. But, like many moms, I’m not thrilled feeding my kids frozen sugar on a stick. My littles would eat popsicles all day long, so I had to come up with a healthier option.

See if you can get down with this: no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners and best of all; they’re loaded with vitamins, nutrients and even protein! “Popsicles for every meal”, said no mom, ever. But with these recipes, it could be an option.

Here are five kid-friendly, mom-approved recipes. The yogurt popsicles will serve up a huge punch of protein, they’re good enough for breakfast! Your babes will love it when you offer-up a frozen treat first thing in the morning. #MomOfTheYear status right there!

And since you’re so great, you’ve earned that mixer on a stick (check out bonus popsicle #6. Adults only ;))

1. Greek Yogurt Berry Pops
