The 2-Shirt Nursing Method For Breastfeeding Moms
For those of you who don’t know what the 2-shirt nursing method is… I’m sorry no one has told you about it yet. Because for breastfeeding moms, it’s a game changer.
It makes it super easy to breastfeed in public, aaaaand it’ll save you a ton of money. You can thank me later ;)
Today I’m going to show you exactly what the 2-shirt method is and how to use it. (full video at the end of this post)
Why the 2-shirt method? So many reason, too many to name here. But I’ll brush over the basics.
1. It’ll save you a TON of money!
There’s no reason for you to go out and buy a completely new wardrobe of “breastfeeding friendly” clothes…. let me repeat, there is NO reason for you to go buy a whole new wardrobe of “breastfeeding friendly” clothes.
Not only are breastfeeding clothes expensive, but most of them are NOT cute. I swear, most of it looks like stuff they’d wear on Little House on the Prairie (ugh). Yes I’m a mom, but I still want to feel like ME.
With the 2-shirt method, you can wear all the clothes you knew and loved before you got pregnant. Wear your fave top, your favorite comfy sweatshirt and that tank you’ve been rockin’ for the passed 5 years.
2. There’s no need to use a cover
The 2-shirt method is so rad, there’s no need to use a cover (even in public). Breastfeed in public with ease. Without worrying about flashing the whole world.
With this method, your chest AND tummy is all covered.
One thing I always hated about feeding in public without a cover is that if I had to pull my shirt up to feed, my whole tummy would be hanging out. I didn’t like feeling that exposed, and if it was cold outside, it sucked.
3. Makes it super easy to breastfeed in public.
No need to go to a “private” room to feed. Continue on with your conversation with your BFF, stay at the dinner table at the restaurant, stay seated at the movie theater.
The 2-shirt method makes it incredibly easy to feed in public. Just sit down (wherever you are), pull up your top shirt, pull down your under shirt, latch your baby and voila, you’re feeding your little babe.
