Dressing The Punks - Belin

You know the Facebook timehop feature that replays your past a day at a time? Mine popped up photos of my last trip to Europe, two years ago. Memories flooded my head of romantic dinners for two, the smell of hot fresh crepes, and streets filled with high-end fashion. Instantaneously, I caught the travel bug. One problemo, I have kids now. Oh the days before children… when spontaneous jet setting was so much simpler. Just the thought of dealing with two toddlers adjusting to a 7 hour time change is enough to freak me out. For now, I’ll settle for a trip to World Market instead.

No fresh crepes but plenty of fun things to try from around the globe. We must’ve spent at least a half hour just in the toy section. Scored some fun stocking stuffers and white elephant gifts guaranteed not to disappoint. Then we loaded up on Dutch caramel wafers, Japanese cookies, and Swedish ginger snaps for a picnic at home. But, not before I picked myself up a canister of red velvet hot cocoa. Yum.

Our little international smorgasbord was a hit with the boys. In between bites, they even got down to some fresh french beats. It wasn’t a trip to Europe but that evening when I was kissing the boys goodnight, Kingston looked up at me and said, “Thank you, mommy.” for the first time. And just like that, there’s no other place I’d rather be than home sweet home. xx
